SYNERGY DESIGN GROUP TO DESIGN ITALIAN-AMERICAN MUSEUM IN WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

Synergy Design Group to Develop American Italian Cultural Center’s
New Museum

Exhibit Design House Will Showcase Italian-American History
in New Orleans, Engage Guests With Multi-Sensory Museum

NEW ORLEANS, LA (August 24, 2018) — Synergy Design Group is proud to announce selection as the exhibit design house behind the new museum display coming spring 2019 to the American Italian Cultural Center (AICC) in New Orleans’ Warehouse District. The museum will document the assimilation of Italian immigrants into American and New Orleanian culture and retention of their own unique traditions through artifacts, works of art, family histories and more. Visitors may view the exhibition upon its completion on the third floor of the AICC at 537 S. Peters Street, New Orleans, LA, 70130.

The museum display will guide visitors through the first arrival of Italian immigrants to New Orleans to present day, showcasing important aspects of Italian-American life along the way. Topics covered in the museum include art, religion, family and World War II. Synergy Design Group will incorporate a mix of audio (voice recordings, music) and visual media (photographs, artifacts, articles) for a multi-sensory guest experience. The AICC “celebrates Italian-American culture past, present and future,” and the new museum display promises to showcase the Italian-American experience in detail and inspire and engage visitors (AICC, n.d.).

Synergy Design Group’s partnership with the AICC began in 2015 when the exhibit design house collaborated with the AICC’s marketing team to develop and install the American Italians in Jazz museum display. The interactive exhibit showcases influential Italian-American jazz musicians, including Louis Prima and Nick LaRocca, and their contributions to the jazz scene in New Orleans. The American Italians in Jazz exhibition is currently open to the public at the AICC Museum from 10 AM – 4 PM Monday through Friday.

HAVE A HURSTASTIC DAY

We helped client Harry Hurst Middle School showcase their brand and roadrunner mascot in this branded interior project. By using a mix of wall graphics, window graphics and 3-dimensional lettering, we transformed the unused lobby and hallway walls into marketing assets. In addition to enhancing the space, the installation helps parents and prospective students learn what it means to be “Hurstastic.”

Students have fun taking pictures in front of the installation and sharing them with friends and family on social media. The permanent installation serves multiple purposes, maximizing our client’s investment.

HCCL Bilingual Workforce Training & Development Center

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana’s Bilingual Workforce Training & Development Center provides invaluable resources for the Hispanic community. In addition to offering business courses and seminars, language classes and job postings, the center helps participants hone their skills and discover career opportunities. The Bilingual Workforce Development Training program enrolls over 200 adults per year since 2008 and is the only web-based, bilingual workforce training program in Louisiana.

Prior to its grand opening on January 24, 2017, Synergy Design Group brought cohesion to the lobby with branded signage. The front door panel and the back wall’s 3-dimensional mounted signage greet visitors and exude professionalism. Explore the pictures below to see more of the transformation.

Jazzin’ it Up

New Orleans is known around the world for its jazz music. From street corners to concert halls, the sound of music constantly floats through our humid atmosphere. The American Italian Cultural Center wished to celebrate some of the American Italian jazz musicians who made New Orleans groove and asked Synergy for help.

Synergy combined sound, sight, and touch to deliver on a multimedia exhibit display installation complete with LED screens, an interactive kiosk, custom wallpaper and 3D signage. Viewers watch videos and listen to samples of the music as well as listen to interviews of the artists on the interactive stand. Large-format historical images, portraits, and personal anecdotes give exhibit viewers an intimate glimpse into the musicians’ careers and lives. Contemporary red benches provide visitors a place to sit while learning about American Italian jazz history.

Giving Thanks at the White Bear Area YMCA

In July of 2011, Synergy Design Group installed a custom branded interior at the  White Bear Area YMCA in Minnesota. The client wished to explain the different campaigns they undertook to fund its exercise, fitness and community building programs. Therefore, we collaborated on a donor wall display. In addition to bringing cohesion to the space, the wall display honors campaign participants and donors. Features of the wall include custom applied graphics, mounted text panels and the YMCA’s 3D logo and tagline. As a result, our client can show appreciation and gain participation in future fundraising campaigns.

A Common Goal: Two Companies, One Space

The conference room at Shell-Norco had become outdated and needed a fresh look. So we worked with our client to design a custom space ideal for large meetings as well as smaller gatherings. Incorporating their mission statement, images highlighting the different aspects of the Norco manufacturing plant business, and integrating a 3D wall display made this their unique branded interior!  This permanent installation included new furniture utilizing Motiva Shell’s technology and whiteboards ideal for smaller discussions. Additionally, a cabinet with hidden cold beverage compartments was a special treat for those in long meetings. #SynergyDesignGroup #MindOverMatter

Forever Young

Essential Federal Credit Union‘s Panther Pride custom kiosk at a nearby high school needed a redesign to coordinate with their youthful atmosphere. In addition, the client wished to appeal to their younger market.

The custom branded interior we designed combined acrylics, 3D letters and interchangeable retail graphic frames.

Before and after photos tell some of the story.
